plug producer with seeding machines, rolling benches
and watering booms.

Vibrant Earth
Marys operation supplies garden centres
throughout New Zealand. She has a 4 acre site that
has 700- 800 native and ornamental species that are
grown on the Nursery. From her propagation unit she
grows approx 80% of her stock. |
Thirkettles Nursery
This is owned ans operated by John & Jackie
Thirkettle. Their nursery is all containerised plants.
They grow approx 1000 different varieties ranging from
PB3 size to PB 95 grades, and 90% of these are propagated
at the nursery. |

Ewers Glasshouse production
20 tonne of tomatoes, 4-6 tonne of
petters, 1-2 tonne of cucumber per day, six days
aweek. John & margaret Wers are at the fore-front
of vegetable production with 65ha outdoors and 6.5ha
of Faber houses.

Gardens of the World
This is owned and operated by Geoff and
Gillian Etherington. They have a passion for plants
and trees especially from all over the world.
Gardens of the World was originally
an apple orchard and in 1990 these were all taken out,
plans made and in May 1990 the first tree was planted.
As you walk around these gardens each area represents
a country. It is now Qualmark recognised and is an
attraction for visitors from all around the world.
Its an ideal setting for weddings etc. |
Ace of Spades This organic nursery it is run by Bruce
and his wife and has only been in operationfor just
over a year. They grow ornamentals and native plants
and sell direct to the public, they also run a landscaping
business. |
Plants Unlimited This has been going for about 3 years.
Alyson and Grant James are specialist growers of quality
liners throughout New Zealand. Their list of species
contains all from exotics to Rhodos of which they have
over 67 varieties. Their business is getting bigger
daily. |
Appletons Tree Nursery Eric and Robert Appleton supply
a comprehensive range of quality deciduous broadleaf
and conifer seedlings to the nursery industry. They
offer a range of 350 species and play a huge part
in the forestry industry. |
